Meet Sue Meikle

 

Sue is a children's author who loves to read and write picture books.

 

She is passionate about storytelling and supporting children's language and literacy.  She is also a story ambassador! 

 

Sue lives in the North West of England with her family and very stubborn dog.

 

She is proudly represented by Fiz Osborne at Creative Roots Studio,  who expertly manages all of Sue's book-related endeavors!

Things Sue is good at...

 

  • Spotting other people’s spelling mistakes (but she's not great at spotting her own).
  • Walking up hills (and rolling down them ... not always by choice).
  • Seat-drops on a trampoline (or a bouncy castle).
  • Eating biscuits (especially ones covered in dark chocolate).

 

Things Sue isn't good at...

 

  • Times tables, long division, naming shapes … or anything else to do with maths. 
  • Washing the car (she can't reach the roof).
  • Skipping with a skipping rope.
  • Having her picture taken.
  • Being quiet (Sue likes to talk ... A LOT).

Sue has been shortlisted in a variety of writing awards, including The Stratford/Salariya Picture Book Prize, The Searchlight Writing Awards and The Writing Magazine Awards, including a second-place chapter book prize!
